This Little Makers - Artisan Potter ( Hand Throwing Mastery Workshop ) is designed for children aged 12 and above, guided by a nationally certified master. Even beginners can create satisfying pieces! As a representative of traditional crafts, pottery embodies rich cultural heritage and is a creative and enjoyable art form. By working closely with clay, participants will have the opportunity to experience the charm of this ancient craft, gaining valuable knowledge and wonderful memories. 

 

1. Pottery 101: The artisan potter will explain the pottery-making process and the basic steps of wheel throwing.
2. Hands-On Creation: Under the guidance of the experienced artisan potter, participants will practise wheel throwing techniques, including kneading clay, centering, opening, pulling up, and trimming the clay body.
3. Firing and Mailing of Works: All pieces will be fired and glazed by the instructor and final masterpieces can be used in daily life. Experience the joy of making your own tableware! The creations will be mailed to your doorstep within 4 - 6 weeks.

  • Matters Needing Attention: Please read all instructions, cancellation, and reschedule policies carefully. Application submission confirms your agreement to the merchant’s regulations.
    1. Please complete the Participant Information after your payment.
    2. Pictures / videos of the course may be used for event promotion in the future. If you do not agree, please notify us during the course.
    3. Please arrive at the venue 15 minutes early to allow children to become familiar with the new environment, ensuring they are comfortable and enjoy the activities.
    4. Please bring your own apron, trim your nails beforehand, and avoid wearing short skirts to facilitate operating the pottery wheel.
    5. Pottery pieces require two firings and glazing, so they will be ready for pickup 4 - 6 weeks after the workshop. The organizer will contact you with the details on the collection process.
    6. Various factors can affect the final outcome of the pottery pieces ( wheel-throwing technique, clay shrinkage, kiln temperature, etc. ).
  • Weather Impact: In the event of a natural disaster or other uncontrollable factors affecting the course, the organizer reserves the right to adjust the course schedule or cancel it.
  • Minimum Enrollment: 5 people run a class, Niceday will inform you in advance if there are not enough people to form a class, offering rescheduling or a full refund. If the class is confirmed, no further notification will be provided.
